1. Your home’s exterior, landscaping and overall condition and appearance all contribute to its curb appeal. First impressions are everything in real estate and can have a major impact when you list your home for sale… some say up to 50% of the sale.
2. Before making any repairs or renovations, consider whether they’ll add value, provide a good return on investment or help attract prospective buyers. Remodeling kitchens and bathrooms may seem like a good option, but we encourage home sellers to determine whether they’ll actually get a return on investment (ask us, we’ll help determine if it is needed or not and possibly save you thousands).
3. A fresh coat of paint inside and out and upgrading lighting fixtures will help give the home a warm and fresh look and while you’re at it, just cleaning the windows will add an extra sparkle.
4. It’s a great time for Spring Cleaning (whether you’re selling or not) and if you are thinking about selling/moving, it’s a great time to declutter and de-personalize your home as well as going a bit deeper and go through the closets.
5. Staging your home is an important part of getting buyers to fall in love with your home. You can have it professionally staged with the stager’s furniture or simply clear all the Knick-knacks off of the tables, clear the counter tops and make the entire home easy to walk through and show off the space your home actually has.
